In the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odessa, an air alert was announced at 1:21 pm by Oleg Kiper, the head of the regional military administration of Odessa, in Telegram. He urged everyone in Odessa and the surrounding area to seek safety in bomb shelters immediately. The reason for the alarm is a looming missile threat, with reports circulating on local Telegram channels that a MiG-31K fighter jet was lifted into the sky in response, reports BTA.
The alarm was canceled at 1:40 p.m., quoted by BTA.
The general director of BTA (National Information Agency of Bulgaria) Kiril Valchev remains in Odessa. He is there to meet with the mayor of Odessa - Gennadiy Trukhanov and to clarify the details of the Nineteenth World Meeting of the Bulgarian Media.
The event is planned to be organized hybridly on-site in Odessa, Bolgrad, Izmail and Zarya (Kamchik) and online as a sign of support for the Bulgarian community in the Odesa region.
