Tens of thousands of Hungarians flocked in the early afternoon on Saturday at the final pre-election rally of the opposition party TISA and its charismatic leader Peter Magyar on Heroes' Square in Budapest, BTA reported.

On June 9, Hungary will elect members of the future European Parliament, local authorities and representatives of the republican self-governments of the country's national minorities.

In Hungary, the Saturday before the vote is not a day for reflection and pre-election events are allowed. Hungarians of all ages walked the streets and took public transport to Heroes' Square under the hot sun, some carrying the national flag with the words “TISA”. Due to the rally starting at 2 p.m., traffic was reorganized, local media reported on Friday.

The pre-election rally of TISA was marked by the presence of numerous representatives of culture. The mood of the supporters of the opposition party and its candidates for the elections was complemented by musical performances of famous Hungarian artists such as the singer Chezi, the opera prima Andrea Rost.

At the beginning of the event, a recording of the performance of Freddie Mercury and “Queen” was broadcast on the huge screens in the square and on the neighboring boulevards. of a Hungarian folk song at the band's concert in Budapest in 1986. Famous actors loved by Hungarians also took to the stage in front of the crowds at the Heroes' Square.
