Trump: Russian ships in Cuba showed Biden's weakness - 1

The arrival of the ships of the Russian Northern Fleet in Cuba is the result of the weakness of US President Joe Biden , said his predecessor and rival in the presidential election in November, Donald Trump.

„Russian warships and nuclear submarines are now around Cuba, 60 miles off the coast of Florida... How does that make you feel? This is only happening because Biden's weakness puts us in mortal danger,” he told his supporters at a show in Florida.

According to Trump, not only the Russian leadership, but also no foreign leader respects Biden.

Earlier, the former US president called the appearance of Russian warships off the coast of Cuba unthinkable.

A four-ship tactical group that has been training with precision-guided missile weapons in the Atlantic Ocean this week entered Havana harbor for an official visit that will last until June 17. The plans of the Russian sailors include meetings with the command of the Cuban fleet and the governor of Havana, visiting historical and cultural places.

As specified, it is about the nuclear submarine "Kazan", the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov", the supply tanker "Akademik Pashin" and the rescue tug "Nikolay Chiker".

The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Alexander Moiseev, told RIA Novosti that the visit to Cuba is only one of the tasks of a long-distance voyage and is carried out within the framework of our country's international cooperation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, commenting on the visit, noted that it corresponds to the friendly relations between Havana and Moscow, and also strictly observes international rules. The department emphasized that none of the ships carry nuclear weapons and their stay does not pose a threat to the region.

CBS News, citing unnamed US officials, said US Navy ships would monitor the visit. One of the channel's interlocutors specified that Washington does not see the situation as a threat, but American ships will be deployed “to monitor the Russians”. At the same time, according to ABC News, the Pentagon is trying to play down the significance of the arrival of Russian warships in Cuba.
