The newest multi-purpose nuclear submarine (MPS) "Arkhangelsk" Project 885M (code "Yasen-M") has gone to sea for the first time for factory sea trials, shipbuilding industry sources said. TASS has no official confirmation of this information.
NPL "Arkhangelsk" was taken out of the Severodvinsk boat shed "Sevmash" on November 29, 2023 for surface completion.
Currently, Sevmash is building 5 nuclear submarines of the 885M project. Nuclear submarines "Severodvinsk", "Kazan", "Novosibirsk", "Krasnoyarsk" projects 885/885M were transferred to the fleet.
The main strike weapon of submarines of project 885M are Oniks cruise missiles and "Kaliber-PL". It is supposed to start from the nuclear submarine "Perm" - the sixth corps of submarines from the Yasen family, will carry hypersonic "Zircons" development and production of Reutov NPO Mashinostroyeniye.
