Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that US President Joe Biden is undergoing a "sincerity test" in his actions regarding the war in Gaza, reported Reuters and BTA.
Speaking to journalists on his way back from the G7 summit in Italy, Erdogan said Biden was expected to show that the Gaza ceasefire plan was not a "calculated election tactic" but a sincere effort to stopping the war.
He also indicated that Germany had softened its position on the sale of Eurofighter jets to Turkey. In November, Turkey said it was in talks with Britain and Spain to buy the Eurofighter Typhoon, although Germany opposed the idea.
"Eurofighter planes are important for us,", the Turkish president stressed.
Erdogan also said inflation would reach a more favorable level in the final quarter of the year with steps on interest rates to be taken.
"Policies aimed at rebalancing the economy are bearing fruit," the Turkish head of state also pointed out.
