Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant traveled to the US on Sunday to meet with senior officials and discuss the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the escalating conflict with Iran-backed "Hezbollah" on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

In addition, the minister is expected to try to convince the US administration to unfreeze a shipment of heavy bombs it is holding for Israel.
Before leaving, Gallant said the upcoming meetings in Washington "are critical to the future of the war", stressing that "relationships with the US are more important than ever.
According to Israeli media, Gallant is expected to meet with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, CIA Director William Burns and President Joe Biden's senior energy and investment adviser Amos Hochstein.
