Ukraine is threatened with losing the "road of life" - the consequences can be fatal - 1

The Ukrainian army is threatened by the loss of the T0504 highway in the eastern part of the country (Donetsk area), which could have fatal consequences, reported focus.de.

The Russians are trying to surround Chasov Yar in the Donetsk region (near Bakhmut). The occupiers are trying to cut off supplies to the ZSU along the T0504 highway, which the Ukrainians desperately need. The highway has been described as “the road of life” in the area because of its logistical importance.

After the capture of the village of Novoaleksandrovka, the Russian army of occupation was only 7 kilometers from the T0504 road. The highway is known as “the road of life” because it is the main supply route for Ukrainian troops in the Eastern Donbas region.

If the Russians take over T0504, many settlements in Ukraine could be effectively cut off from the world, falling under Russian occupation. Ukraine will also have to find alternative ways to supply its troops. This would present a significant challenge. Western analysts stress that there is no suitable alternative to the currently used route, writes The Telegraph.

If the Russians succeed in cutting off this main supply route, Ukraine's defense capability in the eastern part of the country could be significantly compromised.

Against this background, military expert Serhiy Grabsky warns that the loss of the town of Toretsk, south of Chasov Yar, could have very dangerous consequences for Ukrainian forces. The occupying army of the Russian Federation is now actively increasing the speed of its advance in the Donetsk region, in particular, the Russians have increased the number of attacks in the direction of Toretsk. They want to surround the Ukrainian military in the city, warns the expert quoted by the UNIAN agency.

At the beginning of May, the Russian army opened a new front in Ukraine – in Kharkiv region. According to experts, Putin did this to divert Ukrainian troops from the Donbass to the northeastern part of the country. Ukrainian units are already facing the problem that the front line is lengthening and the number of soldiers is decreasing - which means that individual positions are being thinned out. Everything depends on how many soldiers Ukraine will mobilize and what Western weapons it will receive as soon as possible.
