Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva Demands Apology From Argentine President Javier Millay . Lula criticized Millay for making disparaging remarks about Brazil, describing them as “a bunch of nonsense”, so Millay owes him and his country an apology, reports Reuters, BTA broadcasts.

Lula, who is a supporter of left-wing politics, said in an interview with the news site You O El that he had not yet met Milai, a right-wing libertarian who took office in December.

The Brazilian leader refrained from any meetings until he received an apology from his Argentine counterpart.

Milai, known for his alliance with Brazil's far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro, did not hold back during his election campaign last year. He launched several attacks against Lula, calling him a "communist" and "corrupt", as reported by Reuters.

This political rift underscores ongoing ideological tensions between South American leaders.
