Unknown gunmen attacked a car, transporting ballot boxes after the end of election day in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan and killed two members of the security forces, Iranian state media reported, quoted by world agencies and BTA.

According to the Iranian TV "Press" five people were injured in the attack. In turn, the Fars news agency reported that after the attack, the ballots were delivered to the provincial governor's office, where the votes were being counted.

None of the armed groups operating on the territory of Iran has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

Late last night in Iran, voting ended in the extraordinary presidential election that is being produced after the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, who died on May 19 in a helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan province.

Four politicians are participating in the race - the Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the representative of the Iranian leader in the Supreme National Security Council of the Republic Said Jalili, the former head of the Ministries of Interior and Justice Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi and the former Minister of Health Massoud Peseshkian.

Iran has already installed four of its eight new IR-6 high-performance centrifuges for uranium enrichment, Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing a report published last night. of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Tehran announced earlier this month that it would quickly activate installations at its underground uranium enrichment complex in the Iranian village of Fordo (about 30 kilometers northeast of the city of Qom), according to Reuters.

"Following the director general's previous quarterly report, the agency confirmed that Iran has installed four of the aforementioned eight IR-6 cascades at Block 1 of the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant (as it is officially named - note ed.)", says the IAEA report, intended for member countries of the organization, among which is Bulgaria.
