The Israeli foreign minister said that Iran deserves to be destroyed because of the warning given a few days ago that if Israel attacks Lebanon, a "destructive war" will follow, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
"A regime that threatens destruction deserves to be destroyed," Israel Katz wrote on the social network X. The minister stressed that Israel will act with full force if the Iran-backed Shiite group "Hezbollah" did not stop the shelling from the territory of Lebanon and did not move away from the border.
Iran's mission to the United Nations on Friday said in "X" that if Israel were to launch a "full-scale military aggression" against Lebanon, "a war of destruction will follow". Then "all options, including the full participation of all fronts of the resistance" will be considered, the publication also says.
"Hezbollah" and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire daily along the Israeli-Lebanese border since on October 7 the Palestinian Islamist group "Hamas" launched its bloody attack on southern Israel, which triggered the war in the Gaza Strip, Reuters recalls.
