Iranian General: We Will Send Missiles to Israel Again - 1

High-ranking Iranian Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Revolutionary Guards Air Force, threatened Tehran's arch-enemy Israel with a new massive missile attack, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

According to state media, he made his harsh statement at an event in Tehran yesterday.

A few months ago, Iran and Israel were on the brink of a major regional war. On April 13 of this year The Revolutionary Guard fired hundreds of drones and rockets at Israel, DPA recalls. This happened after the alleged Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy compound in the Syrian capital of Damascus, in which two generals were killed in early April.

Hajizadeh has now said that he hopes for the possibility of a second such operation. "I don't know how many missiles will be needed," he added.

The threat is likely related to recent tensions between Israel and Lebanon.

Over the weekend, Iran's UN mission threatened a "devastating war" in case of escalation between Israel and "Hezbollah".

After the start of the Gaza war, the decade-long conflict between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran escalated dramatically. The Jewish state is under fire on several fronts following attacks by militias allied with Iran.

After the 1979 revolution, the US and Israel were considered sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has in the past described Iran as "the most important enemy" on his side, DPA recalls.
