Vladimir Putin faces a new rebellion as Russian guerrillas vow to destroy it, writes Express.co.uk.
Evgeny Prigozhin's coup and his private army “Wagner“ (now under the War Ministry) failed after he halted his march towards Moscow. But then the rebellion revealed how illusory the immunity of Vladimir Putin's regime is.
Now one of the leaders of the Russian partisans has stated that the main goals of his organization are to bring about the destruction of the “anti-human” system of Vladimir Putin, to end the war in Ukraine and punish those responsible for the “colossal crimes” against humanity.
Roman Popkov is one of the leaders of the "Rospartizani" group, which carries out sabotage missions against military and industrial facilities in Russia. There are two key aspects to the guerrillas' mission - punishing those who are "stained with blood" and reducing Russia's military potential.
„One of the goals is retribution, which is a very important moral imperative,” he explained. “Evil must be punished – it's important for the victims, it's important for the future.
Popkov identified Putin's propagandists, whom he described as "weapons of mass destruction", as one of the key targets for "punishment", as well as the leaders of Putin's military and security apparatus. The guerrillas' second goal was to undermine Putin's ability to wage his war in Ukraine.
He said there was no other way to destroy Putin and his totalitarian regime than by using force. "Since Putin came to power in 2000, we have tried different formats, different methods to put pressure on this country. There are no other ways to fight except by force, and that is why I am with the partisans."
He added that Putin's Russia is a country of "absolute evil" and as such there can be "no prohibited methods" in fighting it. Popkov argued that the issue of morality and shame played a big role in convincing people to put everything on the line and risk their lives to fight Putin's regime.
Popkov stressed that his group is among the many actively involved in the resistance in Russia. While the majority of Russian society supports the actions of Putin's war criminal regime, there are still many Russians who oppose military aggression against Ukraine. Many Russian citizens fled abroad, others remained in the federation.
