President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine bills on extending martial law and on general mobilization in the army, Ukrinform reported, referring to the website of the Ukrainian Parliament, quoted by BTA.
According to deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak, the committee on national security, defense and intelligence will consider the two bills today, before they are voted on in the parliament.
"Now they are in the commission, and today the Verkhovna Rada will approve them at its meeting. The validity period is from August 12, for 90 days, i.e. until November 9. This will be the 12th vote on these issues," Zheleznyak wrote in "Telegram".
On May 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the laws approving the presidential decrees on the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine from May 14 for a period of 90 days, i.e. until August 11, 2024, Ukrinform notes.
