The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that the power in Serbia will not be changed in the streets and by violence, but in elections and that " ;the gang" about lithia was started with the aim of overthrowing him and the authorities in Serbia, Tanjug reported.

„In Serbia, the government will be elected in elections. The fact that some people think they will change something with violence will not change anything. And I'm not thinking of running away and going somewhere else, Vucic said last night in a video message on the social network Facebook.

Vucic told protesters who sent him messages yesterday after threatening to drive him across the Drina that Serbia is everything to him and that he lives for the country.

„All these years I have lived for the solution of every problem in Serbia. I have fought for every victory in sports, culture, above all in the economy, but also in politics. (...) Serbia is the place where I was born, Serbia is the place for which I gave everything, which gave everything to me. Serbia is where I will die. I will never leave it and will fight together with you, to the end, for a modern and dignified Serbia," Vucic stressed.

He noted that there won't be any lithium mining for at least two years, but the "hustle" around lithium started because the goal is to overthrow him and the power in Serbia, and that he will always be on the side of the people and will never allow even one child to get sick

At the same time, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabic, said that the protest announced for Saturday in Belgrade has nothing to do with lithium and that its only goal is the overthrow of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

„The protests „against lithium” are summarized in this sentence by one of the editors (of an article on the nova.rs portal): "August 10 is the new October 5" (when Slobodan Milosevic's regime was overthrown with mass protest demonstrations). Vucic should have come to power to start the construction of purification filters in our thermal power plants, to get the first green kilowatts from renewable energy sources, to introduce the first electric buses in urban transport, to close the fuel oil boilers,”, Burnabic pointed out last night in the social network "X".

She added that all this was done since the Serbian Progressive Party was in power, not before.

Serbian media also quotes the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, who warned of an "attempt to destabilize Serbia". Zakharova pointed out "that according to an already established scheme, the issue of lithium exploitation is now being used and under the guise of environmental concerns, a subversive action is being carried out against the state leadership with the aim of escalating the situation," writes "Politics".

"The analysis of the current situation in friendly Serbia shows repeated attempts by certain malicious forces to activate the known destructive arsenal in order to undermine the internal political situation in that country. The emphasis is on the use of topics far from politics as a pretext for provoking public discontent with the aim of undermining stability and ultimately discrediting the legally elected government," said Zakharova, quoted by the Belgrade newspaper "Politika". "Thus, some pseudo-democratic circles cynically want the completely natural concern of citizens for the environment to be transformed into a protest movement," said the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We consider such tactics destructive and irresponsible. Abuses of this kind, especially in the current turbulent conditions, pose a direct threat to Serbia, call into question the constant efforts of its president and government to ensure the sustainable development of the country and the well-being of its citizens, and hinder the pursuit of an independent and principled course as in internal affairs , as well as in the international arena”, says the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on the occasion of tomorrow's expected opposition protests in Serbia, writes the newspaper "Politika".
