Strong winds, possibly from a tornado, derailed 43 rail cars in the American state of North Dakota, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
Speaker of the company “BENSEF Railway“ (BNSF Railway) reported that a tornado warning train was halted Wednesday evening near Steele, North Dakota, when strong winds caused 43 empty coal cars to derail.
There were no injuries in the incident, and there were no dangerous materials in the wagons, the spokesman specified.
The National Weather Service in Bismarck, North Dakota, later confirmed that a tornado had touched down near Steele around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The agency reported four more similar phenomena in the state on the same day. No injured people were reported.
