Russian air defenses foiled an attack by four drones that were flying in the direction of the capital Moscow, the mayor of the city Sergey Sobyanin announced in Telegram, quoted by TASS and BTA.
„The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense in the Podolsk city district repulsed an attack by an unmanned aircraft flying towards Moscow. According to preliminary data, there were no damages or injuries at the place where the debris fell. Specialists of the emergency services are working at the scene of the accident”, the initial message said. It later became clear that there were four drones shot down in the direction of Moscow during the night.
Due to the attack, three departing and nine arriving flights at Moscow's Vnukovo airport were delayed and one was cancelled. The biggest delay was the flight to Bodrum, which is expected to take off 10 hours late.
An air alert was announced during the night in Usmansky district of Lipetsk region, and in Shebekino in the bordering Belgorod region, the town hall reported shelling, and the population was urged to go to shelters. The alert was later cancelled.
Drone attacks were reported tonight in Tula, Lipetsk and Ryazan regions, and according to Russian sources they were shot down.
