French President Emmanuel Macron will consult tomorrow with his predecessors Francois Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy in an attempt to get out of the political impasse in the country, the media reported, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Macron also plans to meet with the former Socialist Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, France Info TV reported. and BeFM, citing sources close to the former leaders.

Casniew headed the government under Hollande from December 2016 to May 2017 and according to the media, he may run for the post again.

A month and a half after snap parliamentary elections in France, Macron still has not appointed a new prime minister and there is no prospect of forming a viable governing majority.

The election delivered a surprise victory for the left-wing New Popular Front alliance, which edged out Macron's centrist forces and the far-right forces around Marine Le Pen, who were predicted to win. Neither camp secured an absolute majority.

The left-wing alliance has repeatedly staked its claim to rule, but Macron has ruled out forming a government with them, saying such a government would be ousted immediately by a vote of no confidence.

Despite several rounds of consultations between Macron and the parties, it remains unclear how a stable government can be formed in France. Coalitions are unusual in the country, which makes it difficult to form a working government, DPA points out.
