The Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia's huge energy sector will be able to achieve its goals and overcome the "illegal" Western sanctions, thanks to OPEC+ and BRICS, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
Speaking at a Russian energy forum, Putin praised his country's cooperation with the BRICS group, which according to Moscow is a kind of counterpoint to the West, and added that Russia will continue to cooperate with oil producers within the OPEC+ group.

"Russia fulfills its obligations and continues to supply global markets with energy resources. It plays a stabilizing role with its participation in such authoritative formats as OPEC+ and the group of gas exporting countries," Putin said. "We will continue to cooperate with our partners," he added.
Revenues from gas and oil sales make up about a third of the state budget and are extremely important to the continuation of the invasion of Ukraine.
Putin nevertheless admitted that there are difficulties in payments for the export of Russian energy products, which in 90 percent of cases go to "friendly" countries that have not imposed sanctions against Russia. He added that in the coming months the government must renew the country's energy strategy to meet these challenges.
