DeepState: Russian army entered Ugledar from the west and south - 1

< p>The Ukrainian monitoring project DeepState confirmed on Monday evening reports from Russian military telegram channels that the Russians had entered the western and southwestern outskirts of Ugledar.

DeepState makes its conclusion based on geolocated footage published by the same Russian channels.

Videos released Monday by Russian military bloggers show houses with Russian flags hanging on them, said to be on the western outskirts of the city.

It is not known whether the Russians settled permanently in the western outskirts of Ugledar. The data on the DeepState map has not been updated, but it also shows that the Russian army, in addition to the Ugledar region, continues its push towards the more strategically important Pokrovsk region.

A few days ago the Russians entered the eastern outskirts of Ugledar.

Later today, the governor of the Donetsk region, Vadim Filashkin, said that fighting was taking place inside the city.

"Fighting is taking place in the city, so it is almost impossible to deliver humanitarian aid," Filashkin wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, there are still 107 residents left in Ugledar.

"Fortunately, all the children have already been evacuated from there," said Filashkin

Ugledar is a small town, and just a few days ago there were reports that Russian forces had entered its outskirts. A Ukrainian military blogger warned that Russian forces were controlling the fire and could impede traffic on the C-051134 Ugledar-Bogoyavlenka road, which is Ukraine's last supply route to its Ugledar group.

The capture of Ugledar is unlikely to give the Russian army any particular operational advantage for further offensive operations in the western part of the Donetsk region, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote five days ago.
