Turkish parliament to hold closed session on Israel - 1

The Turkish parliament will hold a closed session on October 8 to assess Israel's actions in the region and the threats arising from it.

"The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense will provide information on the situation during the meeting”, TV channelA haber quoted the Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmus as saying.

Earlier, the deputy chairman of the faction of the Republican People's Party Murat Emir sent a request to hold a closed parliamentary session on Israel. He did so after Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey was also a target for Israel, along with Palestine and Lebanon. These words caused a debate in the republic; a number of politicians and experts have called on the authorities to clarify how real Israel's threat to Turkey is and what the president's statements are based on.
