Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) says it has sustained serious damage of the Russian warship "Alexander Obukhov", part of the Baltic Fleet, reported the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.
"The ship, which was in the city of Baltiysk and was ready for a combat mission, suffered serious damage. A mysterious hole appeared in the gas line of the engine, which caused water to enter it. As a result, "Obukhov" was 'choked'," announced the press service of GUR.
According to GUR, the minesweeper will now require a major overhaul, which for Russia could prove to be a serious problem due to technical difficulties and the high cost of the repair.
It is noted that the renovation of "Alexander Obukhov" was completed in July. in a dock in St. Petersburg.
