On October 6, a Russian missile hit a civilian ship in the Ukrainian port Yuzhne, which sailed under the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis and was loaded with corn, the Ukrainian Ministry of Municipalities and Territorial Development reported today, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.

The ministry said on "Facebook" that the 15 crew members were not injured.

"Fortunately, none of the 15 crew members, citizens of Egypt and Syria, were injured. The vessel was loaded with about 6,000 tons of Ukrainian corn. It's an entirely civil burden," the statement said.

The ministry informed that this is the 20th civilian vessel hit by Russian attacks.

"This is nothing more than attempts by Russia to affect the successful functioning of the Ukrainian maritime food corridor and threaten global food security," said Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.

Moscow has repeatedly denied attacking civilian targets.

In early September, a bulk carrier flying the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis was hit by a Russian missile in the Black Sea. Later that month, another Antiguan-flagged ship was hit by a Russian missile strike against the Ukrainian port of Odessa.
