The delivery of French fighters "Mirage 2000" for Ukraine is planned for the first four months of next year, reported Ukrinform.
This was stated by the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, Sebastien Lecorneau, in an interview with the French newspaper "South West", quoted by the agency.
"Mirage 2000" will fly to Ukraine within the first four months of 2025," said Lyukornyu. According to him, the most important phase of the current training of Ukrainian pilots and mechanics is in the French city of Nancy.
Furthermore, he recalled that from the fighters "Mirage 2000" will be able to launch air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles and will be equipped with protection against electronic warfare.
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced on June 6 the upcoming transfer to Ukraine of an unspecified number of "Mirage" fighter jets. and training of Ukrainian pilots in France. The French fighter jets have slots for "SCALP" cruise missiles, such as are already in service with the Ukrainian army. Ukraine uses Su-24M fighters modified for the purpose to launch these missiles.
Earlier, the military expert and air defense consultant Xavier Titelman referred in an interview to Ukrinform to the same period for the arrival of the fighters in Ukraine. The French "Mirage 2000-5F" fighters, which are to be delivered to Ukraine, will be adapted to fire on ground targets.
