State of emergency in Bryansk region after Ukrainian strike on arms depot - 1

Local authorities in the Bryansk region in western Russia have declared a state of emergency after an overnight attack on a weapons depot that Ukraine claimed responsibility for, reports **Reuters**. According to the Ukrainian military, the stricken warehouse contained ammunition for missiles and artillery, including supplies from North Korea, although Russia and North Korea deny any such arms deliveries. At the same time, they declared enhanced military cooperation, cited by BTA.

The information about the incident in the Karachayevsky region comes from the Ministry of Civil Defense of Russia, which reported an explosion of explosive devices, but did not directly mention a strike on a weapons depot. According to the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, during the past night, the Russian air defense destroyed 24 drones that were aimed at the region.

This is the latest incident in western Russia following multiple drone attacks and strikes on ammunition depots, with a similar incident last month in Tver Oblast.
