The investment rating is not only a financial milestone, but a clear reflection of sustainability and Serbia's commitment to progress, said Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric in an op-ed for the Washington Times, quoted by Serbian national TV RTS, BTA reported.

He emphasized that Serbia will continue close cooperation with international partners, including the European Union and the United States. Juric pointed out in his author's text that the recent decision of the agency "Standard and Poor's Global Ratings" (S&P Global Ratings) to raise Serbia's credit rating in terms of investment represents a key moment in the country's economic path.

„This achievement is not only a financial milestone, but a clear reflection of Serbia's resilience, determination and commitment to progress,”, Djuric stressed.

With disciplined fiscal management, severe structural reforms and a visionary approach to management, solid foundations were laid for sustainable economic growth, noted the Serbian minister. He added that Serbia's public debt has been significantly reduced, the gross domestic product has more than doubled, the unemployment rate has fallen to less than 9 percent, and the inflow of foreign direct investment has consistently exceeded 4.5 billion euros annually. .

In his words, Serbia is positioned as a leader in technology, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, and the information technology sector is reporting extraordinary growth.

„Our leading role as the incoming chair of the (forum of the European Union and 14 other countries) Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence places us at the forefront of international discussions on responsible governance and practices in the field of artificial intelligence, enabling us to shape the future of this transformative technology”, Djuric emphasized. According to him, Serbia is also making significant progress in the field of renewable energy sources, setting itself the ambitious goal of increasing the share of renewable energy in the country to 40 percent by 2040.

„Strategic international partnerships, especially with the US, support this goal. One of the key steps was the agreement signed earlier this year with Jose Fernandez, the US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment, Jurich recalled. He added that there is still a lot of work to do and Serbia will continue close cooperation with international partners, including the EU and the US. “The improvement of the investment rating is a recognition of our efforts so far and a springboard for our future ambitions. With these strong foundations, Serbia is ready to enter a new era of prosperity, innovation and sustainable development, ready to play an increasingly significant role on the global stage,”, concluded Djuric in his op-ed for the “Washington Times”.
