Due to a shortage of electricity in the country, Ukraine has requested its imports from 5 countries, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced.
„For the current day, imports from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova are forecast to reach a total of 5,215 MW per hour with a maximum output of up to 784 MW at certain times,”, the ministry's Telegram channel said.
The department once again urged citizens not to turn on powerful household electrical appliances at the same time and to save electricity so that the country's energy system can remain in a stable state.
Ukrainian authorities admit that the country has lost a huge amount of energy since the spring, the Kaniv hydroelectric plant, the Dnipro hydroelectric plant, the Zmiyiv thermal power plant were damaged and the largest power plant facility in the Kyiv region, the Tripolia thermal power plant, was destroyed. In the first months of summer, almost daily blackout schedules were implemented in the country, and electricity imports were increased to the technically possible maximum. On August 26, Ukraine again reported extensive damage to energy infrastructure, including the hydroelectric plant in Kyiv. From that moment on, the country once again introduced stabilization shutdowns quite often and resorted to importing electricity.
