Explosions were heard in Kharkiv during an air alert, a guided aerial bomb (UAB) hit the city's Slobidsky district, Ukrinform reported, citing BTA.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, informed about the explosions on his Telegram channel.

"Explosions were heard in Kharkiv. Be careful - there may be more planning bomb launches”, he wrote.

The information was later confirmed by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Sinekhubov.

"The attackers are attacking Kharkiv and the suburbs: stay in the shelters, there is a danger of repeated strikes,” he said in Telegram.

"According to preliminary data, it is confirmed that a controlled bomb hit the Slobidsky district in Kharkiv. The relevant services have arrived at the scene of the accident, the information about the damage is being clarified, he added.

According to the mayor of the city, the explosion took place near a tall building. The blast wave broke several windows. So far, no injuries have been reported.

In the first minutes of today's Sunday, explosions were heard in Kiev, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, citing eyewitnesses.

This came after the Ukrainian Air Force reported that several Russian drones had targeted the Ukrainian capital.

The explosions sounded like the result of the work of air defense units, eyewitnesses told Reuters.

Kiev, the region around the capital and the eastern half of Ukraine are on airstrike alert, according to warnings issued by the Air Force of Ukraine.

"We have numerous reports of North Korean soldiers preparing to participate in combat operations alongside Russian forces,” Sirsky wrote on Facebook of his conversation with Christopher Cavoli, a senior US general who commands NATO forces in Europe.
