French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman concluded on the first day of Macron's state visit to Saudi Arabia a strategic partnership agreement between their two countries, reported France Press. The purpose of the contract is to strengthen bilateral ties.

The two leaders also called for Lebanon to finally elect a president.

Macron's visit to the Saudi monarchy began yesterday. Macron is there at a time when in France the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier is threatened by a vote of no confidence and has a good chance of falling tomorrow.

"Energy transition, defense, mobility, culture and much more - we will multiply the areas of our cooperation," said in "Ex" Macron after a special dinner given in his honor by Mohammed bin Salman.

The two leaders also agreed to work on the preparation of a summit dedicated to artificial intelligence. The forum will be held in February in Paris, the Elysée Palace explained.

Macron and the Saudi crown prince also agreed to make every effort to contribute to de-escalation in the Middle East region, rocked by several conflicts.

Macron and the Saudi prince in particular stressed that they would continue diplomatic efforts to consolidate the ceasefire between Israel and "Hezbollah" in Lebanon, achieved with the mediation of not only France and the USA.

Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia will continue until tomorrow. Macron is also accompanied by heads of 50 leading companies and startups who hope to conclude agreements with Saudi partners.
