Ukraine is not receiving enough aid to win the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during an online conversation with readers of the French newspaper "Parisienne", Ukrinform reported.
At the same time, partners are increasing Ukraine's capabilities to produce and equip it with modern weapons, thus investing in the defense of Europe, the head of state added, quoted by the Ukrainian agency.
"If the war continues, this does not mean that there is too much aid for Ukraine. On the contrary, it means that the aid is not enough," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president emphasized Ukraine's contribution to investments in Europe's defense, Ukrinform notes.
"If Ukraine loses, Russia will attack other European countries, including NATO members. This is inevitable. It will come even faster because it will have realized that it has defeated one of the most battle-hardened armies on the European continent. Since 2014 and the first occupation of our territories, we have gained military experience that most European armies do not have," Zelensky explained.
He pointed out that he has a long-standing and good relationship with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two met with newly elected US President Donald Trump at the Elysee Palace on December 7 - the day the restored Notre Dame Cathedral was opened in Paris.
"We have a very good relationship. We met even before (Macron) was elected. At the beginning of the full-scale (Russian) invasion, he was one of the few leaders with whom I spoke almost every day on the phone, without intermediaries and protocol. We talked directly about the trials, about what we need. "Emmanuel has always been part of this narrow circle of five or seven leaders close to Ukraine," Zelensky said, quoted by Ukrinform.
