Five people died and seven were injured in a fire at a detention center in Yakutsk. This was reported by the operational headquarters of Yakutia with reference to the military commissariat of the region.
"At 02:00, a fire was registered on Vilyuysky Street. The fire broke out in the detention center, where servicemen who left their units without permission are being held,“ the report says.
It is noted that seven people were poisoned by smoke. The injured are in hospital, where they are receiving the necessary assistance.
“Five people have died, their identities are being established”, the operational headquarters added.
The cause of the fire is being clarified, and competent authorities are working on the scene. The police station expressed its condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims.
