A tourist bus collided with a truck in Thailand, injuring 17 tourists, the Khaosod newspaper reported.
The accident occurred in Chumphon province in the southern part of the country. All 17 injured were taken to nearby hospitals. The bus was carrying a total of 43 passengers from New Zealand, the United States, Spain, Hungary, France, the United Kingdom and Israel.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, questioning two bus drivers, one of whom claims that the collision occurred when he bent down to pick up a mobile phone.
A second, more serious incident occurred at a hotel in Bangkok. Three tourists have died and seven others have been hospitalized in a building fire. The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the Ember Hotel in Bangkok.
There were 75 guests in the hotel at the time of the fire. Half of them were rescued by the fire department through the roof of the building.
