Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to visit Washington next week to meet with US President Donald Trump, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA, citing a publication by the publication “Axios“.
If the news is confirmed, Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet with Trump in Washington since his inauguration on January 20.
At the same time, Trump reiterated his desire to see the Palestinians of Gaza live without violence and said that he would talk about this very soon with the Israeli Prime Minister in Washington, Agence France-Presse reported.
"I would like them to live in an area where they could live without unrest, without revolution and without violence," Trump said on the plane returning from Florida.
"The Gaza Strip has been hell for so many years. I think people could live in much safer areas and much more comfortable", he added.
Asked if he still believed in a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Trump replied: "I will talk to Netanyahu in the not too distant future. He will come here", but without mentioning dates.
