US President Donald Trump will soon decide on the "carrot and stick" and other negotiation tools to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. This was stated on Thursday at a security conference in Washington by the chief of staff and advisor to Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg, American career diplomat Ludovic Hood.

„All options are still on the table. And the president will determine what carrots and sticks, tools, incentives and levers to apply to ensure that this war ends as quickly as he would like“, he said.

Yesterday, Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, said that she had her first meeting with Kellogg since his appointment. “We had a detailed discussion with the special envoy, his team and my colleagues“, she wrote on Facebook.

Previously, Kellogg told Newsmax that he would not present a peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict next week because that is the prerogative of the US president.

Earlier, Trump expressed hope that agreements to resolve the conflict in Ukraine would be reached "in the not-too-distant future".

Meanwhile, it became clear that Kellogg is considering the possibility of traveling abroad after participating in the Munich Security Conference, which will be held from February 14 to 16.

“We are going to Munich and then considering other trips“, said his adviser Hood, when asked about a possible trip to Russia and Ukraine. He explained that information about specific plans would be announced at a later date.

On February 3, Ukrainian radio station Radio NV, citing sources in Ukrainian and American political circles, reported that Kellogg is expected to visit Kiev in the middle of this month.

On February 5, the Rada TV channel, citing its own sources, reported that he may make such a visit on February 20. Kellogg's trip to Ukraine was previously planned for early January, but was postponed indefinitely. On February 1, Trump's special envoy said on Fox News that the US leader's team has a "solid plan" to start negotiations on Ukraine.
