A shopping mall is on fire in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, there is a risk that the fire will spread, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported.
"The fire broke out in the building of a shopping mall at the address: Rostov-on-Don, "Budenovsky Prospekt" street, building 49/97. Fire and rescue teams were immediately sent to the scene. Upon arrival, it was found that the facade was burning," the ministry announced.
"According to preliminary data, the area of the fire is 500 square meters, but it has already covered the roof of the nearby five-story building, and the residents are being evacuated," the ministry announced.
About 70 people and 19 pieces of equipment participated in extinguishing the fire.
According to preliminary data, there were no victims.
The department added that laboratory specialists were sent to the scene of the fire to conduct tests for excess harmful substances in the air.
