Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic talked for more than an hour last night in the Kremlin.

The conversation between the leaders of the two countries was held in Russian, without an interpreter.

Vucic arrived in Moscow to celebrate the anniversary of the victory despite threats from the EU. In an attempt to prevent his trip, the Baltic countries did not allow his plane to pass through their airspace.

The visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic marks the beginning of cooperation between Russia and Serbia in the field of building nuclear power plants in Serbia, the head of "Rosatom" told journalists Alexey Likhachev.

“This is such an important moment that from today nuclear energy is officially included in the agenda of Russian-Serbian relations“, he said.

Serbia had a law in place since 1989 that prohibited officials from participating in activities, coordinating or discussing issues related to the construction of nuclear energy and nuclear fuel cycle facilities in the country. At the end of 2024, this ban was lifted.
