Zelensky to Trump: Talks with Putin do not lead to peace, but to more aggression - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to former US President Donald Trump's social media post about his conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Ukrinform reported, BTA reports.

„Many have already talked with Russia at various levels. However, none of these talks have led to a reliable peace or even a temporary cessation of the war“, Zelensky said in his post. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to feel impunity, despite his country's destructive attacks.

„There is information that he is preparing new so-called 'responses'. This means that with every delay in diplomatic pressure and every hesitation, the world receives a clear signal from Russia - a middle finger is shown to all those who are still wondering whether to increase the pressure,“ the Ukrainian head of state emphasized.

Zelensky insisted that aggression must have its price - and it must be paid by the aggressor. He again called for additional sanctions, especially in the sphere of oil trade, as well as for sustainable defense support for Ukraine.

“If the world reacts weakly to Putin's threats, it will perceive it as a green light for new actions. When it does not feel strength and determination, but weakness, it commits new crimes,“, Zelensky added.

Ukrinform recalls that the previous day Donald Trump announced a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, in which they also discussed Ukrainian attacks on Russian airports.
