The man accused of bombing a Colorado protest march in support of Israeli hostages in Gaza will face trial on Thursday, reports „Reuters“, reports News.bg.

Mohamed Soliman, 45, is charged with attempted murder, with prosecutors stressing that his sentence could reach 400 years in prison. The attack took place on Sunday during an event organized by the "Run for Their Lives" movement, aimed at raising awareness about the hostages. Soliman was throwing „Molotov“ cocktails and shouting “Free Palestine“ to the participants.

According to official information, the number of victims has reached 15 people, including people between the ages of 25 and 88, as well as a dog. Soliman has also been charged with hate crimes under federal laws, which provide for life imprisonment. His appearance in federal court is scheduled for Friday.

Soliman arrived in the United States in 2022 on a tourist visa that he overstayed and was in the country illegally. He had been living in Colorado Springs until the incident. Federal services said that his wife and their children were detained on Tuesday and could be deported, although a judge temporarily blocked their immediate removal from the country.

The attack is the latest in a series of acts of violence against Jews in the United States amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East. east. The organization "Run for Their Lives", with a network of more than 230 branches worldwide, strongly condemned the attack. Coordinator Shira Weiss announced that all local branches will continue their activities, including in Boulder, where the 30th annual Jewish festival will be held this weekend.
