Kiev wants to end the war with Moscow “this year”, but the West must increase economic and military pressure on Russia, as “pacification diplomacy” is not working with the Kremlin. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga during a meeting of Ukraine supporters in Rome, quoted by “Agence France-Presse“, BTA reports.
“We want to end the war this year”, Szybiga emphasized. “The time has come to resort to the diplomacy of pressure.“
He stressed that only increased economic, military and political pressure can force Russia to seek peace.
Earlier, the foreign ministers of the six European countries participating in the meeting - Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Britain and Poland - said in a joint declaration that Russian assets in their countries would remain frozen until Moscow ends its war against Ukraine and pays for the damage caused, “Reuters“ recalls.
