Turkey to raise Ukrainian issue at SEECP summit  - 1

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will speak about the need for comprehensive negotiations to reach an agreement in Ukraine at the summit of heads of state and government of the countries participating in the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SECP), a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported, quoted by "RIA Novosti".

„Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend the summit of heads of state and government of the member countries of the SEECP (SECP) on June 16, 2025 in Tirana, the capital of Albania, representing our president (Recep Tayyip Erdogan - ed.). The meeting, which will be organized under the theme “Promoting stability and prosperity through regional cooperation and EU integration“, set by the Albanian presidency, will be attended by heads of state and government and foreign ministers of 13 SEECP member states, as well as EU representatives“, the agency's source said.

According to him, during his speech Fidan will touch on the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

“It will be emphasized that diplomacy and comprehensive negotiations are ways to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict“, the source said. Fidan will also speak about the threat to stability in the Middle East and world peace due to Israel's recent attacks on Iran.
