US President Donald Trump is still not losing hope for talks with Iran and plans to decide within the next two weeks whether the United States will intervene directly in the Israeli-Iranian conflict. This was announced by the White House, quoted by the agencies “Reuters“ and “Associated Press“, BTA reports.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt read a statement from the president, which said:
“Based on the fact that there is a significant chance that negotiations with Iran - which may or may not take place in the near future - I will make a decision within the next two weeks whether or not to proceed.“
Yesterday, Trump issued a “final ultimatum“ to Iranian leaders demanding that they end their nuclear program. However, during a statement to reporters last night, he stressed that he had not yet made a final decision on whether to launch a military strike on Iran and potentially drag the United States into a new conflict in the Middle East.
