Between June 26 and 28, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes on Russian military infrastructure and defense-industrial complex sites. This was reported by various sources, including the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), News.bg reports.

On June 28, the SBU announced that it had carried out a drone attack on the "Kirovsk" air base in occupied Crimea. The strike destroyed a Russian "Pantsir-S1" anti-aircraft missile system and three combat helicopters - Mi-8, Mi-26 and Mi-28. A secondary explosion also occurred on the base. According to a local Crimean source, the strike caused between five and six explosions, damaged an ammunition depot, air defense facilities, and set fire to at least one helicopter.

A day earlier, on June 27, the General Staff of Ukraine reported that special forces, together with the SBU, had struck the "Marinovka" airbase in the Volgograd region. Four Su-34 aircraft and a technical support facility were damaged.

On June 28, a Ukrainian intelligence source informed the "Suspilne" newspaper that the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence (GUR) had carried out several drone attacks on facilities associated with the 120th Arsenal of the Main Directorate (GRU) of the Russian General Staff in the Bryansk region. The attacks caused damage that is still being assessed.

On June 26, another intelligence source indicated that the GUR had struck a fuel and lubricants warehouse at the 1061st GRU Logistics Center in Bryansk Oblast with drones. Residents reported a series of explosions and intense gunfire, and the warehouse was engulfed in flames.

Meanwhile, Russia appears to be adapting its weapons systems. On June 28, the head of the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that Ukrainian air defenses had shot down a Russian "Grom-1" hybrid missile-bomb on the outskirts of the Dnieper. According to a local air defense expert, Russia is likely using experimental KAB guided bombs with extended range using jet engines and a lightweight warhead.

Design engineer Alexander Kochetkov of the Ukrainian enterprise "Pivdnennen Konstruktorskoe Bureau" said that the "Grom-1" was created to increase the range and accuracy of Russian air strikes, while reducing the risk to carrier aircraft.

Meanwhile, on June 27, the Ukrainian channel New Voice reported that satellite images from October 2024 and June 2025 showed the expansion of a Russian factory in the Alabuga special economic zone, near the city of Elabuga, in the Republic of Tatarstan. This expansion is likely related to the production of "Shahed" drones and other weapons systems.
