US President Donald Trump said he was not looking for a trade deal with the European Union because Washington would be happy with a 30% tariff on all European imports.
“We could probably make a deal with Europe. I'm very cool about it. We sent them a letter saying we're going to impose a 30% tariff on August 1“, he told Real America's Voice. “It's a good way to do business. We make a lot of money.“
Trump added that Washington was “very close to reaching a trade deal with India“ and that it was “too early“ to talk about a trade deal with Canada.
The United States plans to impose import tariffs of 10-15% on goods from about 150 small countries, Trump said.
“We will announce a number for the remaining almost 150 small countries. And it will probably be 10% or 15%. We haven't decided yet,“ he said.
