A bus overturned from a height of 25 meters in Yakutia, 14 people died and 10 were injured, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Republic reported.
„Information has been received that at about 03:20 on the technological highway of JSC GOK Denisovsky a traffic accident occurred. According to preliminary data, the driver of the vehicle „Nefaz 4208-34“ allowed the vehicle to go off the road, after which the vehicle overturned from a height of about 25 meters. As a result of the traffic accident, 14 people died, including the driver of the shift bus, and 10 people were hospitalized,“ the message says.
It is specified that there were about 36 people on the bus. According to preliminary data from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region, the car fell off a cliff on the eastern side. 36 specialists and 10 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the accident.
According to information from the republican prosecutor's office, the vehicle was transporting workers from the “Vostochnaya Denisovskaya“ mine.
As a result of the incident with shift workers in Yakutia, 10 people were hospitalized, the condition of 2 of them is assessed as serious.
Another nine victims were examined on an outpatient basis - they were diagnosed with bruises and abrasions. One patient has a non-displaced ankle fracture and does not require surgical treatment. A total of 20 people were taken to a medical facility.
