Several North Korean soldiers crossed the border with South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported.
“About 30 North Korean soldiers crossed the inter-Korean border, prompting warning shots from South Korea,“ the report said.
According to a UNC spokesman, the incident occurred on Tuesday. They explained that the soldiers had crossed the military demarcation line to carry out construction and repair work.
Earlier, the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army said that South Korea had fired more than ten warning machine gun shots at North Korean troops in the area of the country's southern border.
Pyongyang assessed this as a “very worrying sign“, given the confrontation in which huge armed contingents are deployed.
