A man who stabbed five people in a hotel in the southern French city of Marseille this afternoon was killed by police, the city's prosecutor's office said, quoted by Reuters.
Among the injured are the hotel manager and his son. One of the stabbed victims is in critical condition.
The attacker - a Tunisian who had two knives and a crowbar - died after being shot by police, prosecutor Nicolas Besson and local police said.
The attack took place at 2:45 p.m. (3:45 p.m. Bulgarian time) in the first arrondissement of Marseille.
Besson explained that the attacker, who was a legally resident immigrant, was evicted from the hotel because he had not paid for his stay.
