Sofia Municipality: 80% of "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo" are now being cleaned entirely on schedule

In the last two weeks, the Municipality has relied mainly on the Sofia Waste Plant, which has hired several new teams - drivers and operatives

80% of the Sofia districts of "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo" are now being cleaned entirely on schedule, the Sofia Municipality (SO) announced. The municipality is easing, but not completely canceling the temporary crisis organization in the two regions, the Sofia Municipality also states.

In the last two weeks, the Municipality has relied mainly on the Sofia Waste Plant, which has hired several new teams - drivers and operatives.

The Sofia Inspectorate also plays a key role, making plans, routes and directing teams to critical points.

The waste treatment company hired one truck and received 9 more from neighboring municipalities and citizens - they will remain at the disposal of the municipality at least until the end of the year, the Municipality states.

They also emphasize the contribution of hundreds of citizen volunteers in the cleanup.

In connection with the efforts for a long-term solution for waste collection in the two regions, the Deputy Mayor for Ecology of the Sofia Municipality Nadezhda Bobcheva stated earlier this week that "Sofekostroy" is one of the most logical strategic decisions for assigning cleanliness in the two districts.

In this direction, the Municipal Council has already voted - at the proposal of the Municipality, 9 million leva for the purchase of new equipment and expansion of its capacity. This is the decisive step for building a sustainable municipal reserve that will take control of the service for the benefit of Sofia residents, the Municipality notes.

Appeal to citizens

The Municipality continues to rely on and calls on the residents of "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo":

"Continue separate collection: Use colored containers as efficiently as possible.

Make frills: Take care of cleanliness around the containers.

Use temporary points: Continue to use temporary containers for bulky waste, and if possible for household waste until normal waste collection is fully restored".
