Political PR Nidal Algafari commented on the current political processes in the studio of “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov“, including the appointment of Rumen Spetsov as special manager of “Lukoil Neftochim Burgas“ and the issue of possible early elections.
Algafari described Spetsov's appointment as surprising. “I expected completely different figures – economically prepared, financially prepared, familiar with the refinery and Lukoil“, he said.
According to him, however, the key point is not the CV, but the choice of international partners:
“This person has been accepted by the British and American authorities. He is probably the most suitable for the deal that needs to happen“.
According to him, this is an upcoming deal regarding the ownership of the refinery. “He is the person who could possibly prepare this upcoming sale“, Algaffari pointed out.
Algaffari rejected the possibility that the country would be pushed towards early elections.
“Whatever happens, there will be no early parliamentary elections, so as not to give Mr. Radev the opportunity to officially step into his role as party leader“, he said.
In his words, even a possible fuel crisis would not change this scenario.
Regarding the fears of a “seizure“ of the refinery, Algaffari commented:
”There will certainly be someone who is the owner - whether close to the American authorities, the British or the Russians. It is more important whether the refinery will continue to operate and provide normal prices“.
He also commented on the lack of administrative and judicial control over the decisions of the special managers. “I am not competent in the legal part, but there are enough laws under which anyone can be held liable“, Algaffari emphasized.
In connection with the budget procedure, Algaffari warned of potential social tension.
“They only burdened people in private business. The state administration did not take on any burden“, he said, but emphasized that a better option is not in sight for now.
His harshest criticism was directed at the new parking rules in Sofia.
“They haven't thought it through. "People from Pernik, Dupnitsa, Kyustendil who come to work cannot afford these zones," he said, expressing hope that the Consumer Protection Commission will correct the decision.
