Some basic food products, fruits and vegetables are becoming more expensive on the stock exchanges in the country over the past week. This is according to data from the weekly bulletin of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT), cited by BTA.

The market price index (MPI) for changes in food prices increased by 1.11% to 2.364 points compared to 2.338 points a week earlier. The base level of the index (1,000 points) is from 2005.

Frozen chicken meat increased in price by 3.51% to 7.02 leva per kilogram, and eggs size M - by 1.42% to 0.43 leva per piece wholesale. The price of yogurt with 3 and more percent fat content increased by 2.19% to 1.40 leva per 400 g bucket, and fresh milk - by 3.54% to 2.40 leva per liter. "Vitosha" type yellow cheese is more expensive by 0.93% and is sold at 18.32 leva per kilogram, and cow's cheese is cheaper by 0.14% to 11.82 leva per kilogram. The price of a 125 gram packet of butter is 0.98% higher and is traded at 3.08 leva per piece.

Lentils are up 2.43% to 4.30 leva per kilogram, type 500 flour - 4.28% to 1.56 leva per kilogram, oil - 0.80% to 3.29 leva per liter, and sugar - 4.74% to 1.90 leva per kilogram. At the same time, rice has become slightly cheaper - by 0.06% to 3.33 leva per kilogram, and ripe beans - by 0.41% to 4.33 leva per kilogram.

Among vegetables, the price of cucumbers has increased the most significantly - by 15.83% and they are traded at 4.20 leva per kilogram, of red and green peppers - by 12.44% and 12.11% to 2.73 leva and 2.50 leva per kilogram, and of tomatoes - by 7.47% to 3.02 leva per kilogram.

The prices of cabbage have decreased the most - by 11.16% to 0.78 leva per kilogram, and potatoes - by 11.34% to 0.86 leva per kilogram. The price of carrots decreased by 2.55% to 1.07 leva per kilogram, of zucchini - by 4.36% to 2.37 leva per kilogram, and of ripe onions - by 5.29% less to 0.86 leva per kilogram.

Among fruits, lemons became cheaper - by 7.30% to 3.15 leva per kilogram, bananas - by 3.75% to 2.67 leva per kilogram, and oranges - by 2.53% to 2.31 leva per kilogram. Apples became more expensive - by 6.26% to 2.14 leva per kilogram, and grapes - by 2.10% more to 3.02 leva per kilogram.
