Following the refusal of the Speaker of the Parliament Raya Nazaryan to take the position, today the meetings of "Dondukov 2" continue with the remaining candidates.
At 11:00, the President received the Governor of the BNB Dimitar Radev. Yotova met him at the entrance to the presidential institution. The meeting between the two was closed.
"I have reiterated my position, which is well known - if I accept to become the acting Prime Minister, this would constitute a violation of ethical norms and legislation. The sanction for such a decision is immediate resignation, and this leads to the risk of destabilizing the BNB and depriving the country of its right to vote in the ECB. We have not discussed in the BNB whether any of the deputy governors will accept the post of caretaker prime minister", commented Dimitar Radev upon leaving the Presidency.
After him, deputy governors Petar Chobanov, Radoslav Milenkov and Andrey Gyurov also arrive for consultations.
The date for the early parliamentary elections also depends on the signing of the decree appointing a caretaker government, and they must be held within two months of the start of the interim government.
