"Lukoil Bulgaria" stated that a possible arbitration case will not affect the company's work in our country in any way and emphasized that there is no reason for concern regarding the availability of fuels and their prices. "Lukoil" companies in Bulgaria continue to operate normally under the leadership of the special commercial manager.
We recall that the Swiss division of the company, which manages the trade in oil and products mainly in Europe, has informed the Bulgarian government that it is taking steps to file an arbitration claim against the state. The reason - the measures taken by the Bulgarian state against the companies of the group on its territory, which violate the country's international commitments.
Meanwhile, it became clear that the United States will extend the deadline for the sale of the international assets of the Russian oil giant "Lukoil", Reuters reports. It is expected that by the end of the day the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department will extend the deadline for concluding the deals from February 28 to April 1, according to a government agency document to which Reuters has access.
In recent weeks, official representatives of the United States, Russia and Ukraine have failed to achieve a breakthrough in peace talks in Geneva, Abu Dhabi and Miami. Discussions also included the issue of U.S. sanctions against Russia's largest oil producer, state-owned Rosneft, as well as second-largest producer Lukoil, according to three Reuters sources.
